Donna
Michelle Anderson, p/k/a “DMA,” first developed her “1-3-5 Story Structure Made
Simple System” as a story analyst at a major Hollywood production company. Within
a year, she was teaching the popular system to students at the prestigious UCLA
Extension Writing Program. She has since presented and taught The “1-3-5” at
universities, film programs, film festivals, industry conferences, professional
organizations and to private clients around the world. Recently, The “1-3-5”
was the first story structure system integrated into Final Draft’s
industry-leading screenwriting software.
In her
entertainment industry career, DMA also has been a writer, producer, showrunner
and network executive for record-setting scripted and unscripted TV programming
and a private consultant and analyst to filmmakers who have successfully sold
and distributed their movies. She is the creator of the patented Show Starter
Scheduling & Budgeting Plus production financials software. A graduate with
distinction of Stanford University, DMA is an active member of the Academy of
Television Arts & Sciences (TV Academy), the Producers Guild of America
(PGA) and American Mensa.
