My True North president Donna Michelle Anderson (p/k/a "DMA") was a personal branding consultant well before the industry stormed mainstream culture! Whether she was representing an elected official as a political aide...crafting and promoting her own image as an international runway model...mentoring teens in multiple non-profit programs...or guiding writers and performers through a series as a successful television producer, her message has been strong and consistent: "Make sure what you show on the outside truly represents who you are on the inside."

After nearly a decade of working in diverse industries and travelling across the world, DMA began a Hollywood writing career in 1994 when she was selected from a highly competitive pool to be an ABC/Disney Writing Fellow. Over the next decade, she was a story analyst for Kennedy Marshall Productions, taught her own "1-3-5" system of story structure at the prestigious UCLA Extension Writing Program and for director/writer/actor Robert Townsend's film school "Townsend Tech" and launched "Movie in a Box," Hollywood's only one-day comprehensive filmmaking seminar. In addition, she was a successful writer, "rescue producer" and show runner in non-fiction television, with a host of highly rated shows on networks including CBS, Fox, UPN, TLC, A&E, History Channel, Bravo, Travel Channel and more.

In 2004, DMA founded her own television production company, Tidal Wave TV, to create "powerful, provocative, signature entertainment" for domestic and international broadcast, particularly emphasizing her background in series brand integration. She continues to offer her "1-3-5: Story Structure Made Simple" seminar and a "Realities of Reality TV" seminar to both student and professional groups across the country. But it is the powerful combination of her background in politics, non-profits, fashion, education, music and entertainment that has put her in private demand as a personal branding consultant, particularly with established talent who are trying to redefine their own possibilities.
